Short Description:

It is a by-product of LWG furnace. Petroleum  coke is used as heat insulating material during graphitization of electrode. Along with graphitization process, we have graphite electrode, as well as by-product graphitized petroleum coke . The particle with the size of 2-6mm is more used as recarburizer. The fine particle is screened separately.

What’s the graphitized petroleum coke ?

It is a by-product of LWG furnace. Petroleum  coke is used as heat insulating material during graphitization of electrode. Application of recarburizer

Recarburizer which is from graphitized petroleum coke is one of the main raw material for the production of carbon steel, and high-quality recarburizer is the necessary raw material for the production of high-quality carbon steel. At present, the graphitized petroleum coke recarburizer which is used by carbon steel manufacturers in the world are mainly from the chippings generated during the processing of graphite electrodes. But it has disadvantage of unstable supply and expensive, which is far from meeting the needs of high-quality carbon steel manufacturers. High-quality recarburizer have become a bottleneck factor that limits the output and quality of high-quality carbon steel. 

How to tell the quality?

1.Ash: ash content should be low. Normally the calcined petroleum coke recarburizer has low ash content,which is around 0.5~1%.

2.Volatiles: volatiles are useless part in recarburizer. Volatiles content is decided by calcine temperature or coking temperature and treatment process. The recarburizer with proper processing has the volatiles less than 0.5%.

3.Fix carbon: the real useful part in recarburizer, higher value, better performance. According to different fix carbon content, recarburizer can be divided into different grade: 95%, 98.5% and 99% and so on.

4.Sulfur content: the sulfur content of the recarburizer is an important harmful element, the lower the better, and the sulfur content of the recarburizer depends on the sulfur content in raw material and the calcination temperature.
